A sunny day

We've had a great deal of rainy and cloudy days lately so I took advantage of some sunshine today to catch some shots of Kia! Here are a few of my favorite for you... hopefully not too many though. : )

That copper glow

I nabbed this treasury spot a couple of days ago and forgot to post it here. It ends in the middle of the night, tonight, I think but its worth taking a look. Lots of pretty items to investigate!


I posted this set of earring pairs on Etsy today too! I can easily see someone making a treasury with a teal and plum combination. Treasuries aren't for promoting one's own work or I'd do it myself!

Shades of Gray

I think I must be addicted to getting treasuries. As soon as I get one, I start getting ready for the next one. I used to have to scramble at the last minute and that didn't work out too well. So now I have one ready to go at all times and its working much better. Here is one I got today and it will be available here until Thursday, May 29 at 7:00pm ET.

Memorial Day

I am proud of and honored by all who have given their lives to make and keep this country free. For those who don't agree with the current war, there are many others to remember, such as the American Revolution, the Civil War and both World Wars. We wouldn't be who we are as a nation or as individuals at all if any of those wars had different endings. God Bless this United States of America.

My beads made the front page on Etsy!

The exposure for being on the front page of Etsy is much sought after. It drives the creativity behind all the beautiful treasuries! Unfortunately, I didn't see this treasury while it was on the FP but I received a couple of emails letting me know it was there. Isn't it just stunning! Many thanks to sarawearsskirts for creating this masterpiece. Check it out here! Of course, the beauty of treasuries is fleeting and this one will only be around for another day.

A few more gorgeous Iris blooms

Here are a few more pictures of my prettier iris blooms. The first picture, posted a few days ago, is still my favorite. I do really like these three though! The first two had the house in the background - not so attractive so I used Photoshop to get rid of the backgrounds.

Woof! A fun doggy bead set for designers.

I can see this set worked up into a fabulously fun and creative bracelet and earring set for a lucky dog lover out there. This set was listed on my website today but will most likely be moved to my Etsy shop tomorrow. Thanks for looking!

Quack!

I got up while early to let the girls out and feed them. I opened the curtain to the sliding glass door and saw a duck eating out of the biggest ground feeder we have. It isn't the first time I've seen her - I think her home must have been displaced by construction this spring. It is the first time I've seen her eating Dove & Quail food though.

I fed the girls first instead and snuck back to the door for pictures while they were eating. She kept a careful watch on me in between bites and then moseyed over to a tree off to the side and hunkered down in the grass. I let the girls out, one at a time, on leash, so they wouldn't be able to chase her.

The irises are blooming

Every year between Mother's Day and Memorial Day, the irises bloom. This has been a colder than normal spring, so we only have a few out right now. I never can remember what irises I have in my garden from year to year so decided to take pictures of my favorites this glorious iris season. Here is the first, and since I don't remember what else I have coming, its my favorite - for now!

Woof! A new family member.

I drove to Colorado last week to adopt a beautiful female Dalmatian from Dalmatian Rescue of Colorado. She was known as Rosa to them but she is Kia to us. She is sweet and fun and very pretty. The poor girl was shot with a rifle and has a broken leg. She is a little jumpy over loud noises and over men and other dogs when she is laying down. Otherwise, you wouldn't know she'd been abused.

She was silly enough the other day to sniff her way around a tree! Of course, she had to explore her new back yard very thoroughly.
